By the Batteaux's charming 1850's house was built by someone of means, judging from the sturdy construction and ample dimensions. Originally it had the kitchen in the basement utilizing an open fireplace and a dumb-waiter to the first floor.

The house , 3,075 sq ft, has been completely renovated, combining modern convenience and old world charm, with custom designed bathrooms and kitchen. The upstairs floor and stairs have been refinished to the original pine. The downstairs floor are refinished to original hardwood in the living rooms and hall. The entrances, kitchen and laundry/pantry are tiled. A rec room and large office are in the basement.

Electric: The house, barn and drive shed have an all new electric service and wiring with a separate distribution panel in each building. In case of power failure, an auto on/off, full service, propane generator provides power to house and barn.

Water: The best water you'll ever taste is supplied by a well that has never run dry. Water passes through filters, softener and anti-bacterial 'Sterilight' and tests "0' consistently. It feeds both house and barn. New plumbing throughout.

Hi-Speed Internet: is available via Rogers' cellular network or Xplornet satellite.

Television: A Bell satellite dish brings in their complete service. There are outlets in the family room, master bed room and kitchen.

Barn: Half of the main floor of the barn has been completely revamped to accommodate six large stalls and tack room. Each stall has a heated water bowl, rubber mat, sliding door and galvanized grating. The tack room has a washer and dryer, small desk, saddle racks and heater. The other half of the barn is used as an implement shed, but could easily be converted to accommodate another six stalls, if required. A sliding horse/man door opens out onto a concrete apron that leads directly to two large paddocks, each with automatic, heated, horse water bowls, that keep water fresh summer and winter. To the left, the apron leads to large exercise area. Also on the main floor is a 19'6"x10'6 heated workshop, with a long solid bench and ample outlets for tools. The loft of the barn has large sliding doors opening into a central area (originally the trashing floor) and a clear half loft for anything from an indoor gym, floor hockey to hay storage. Drive Shed: The drive shed boasts two wide bays, 12'x24' each, with sliding doors, and a 10'8"x24' garage, with an overhead door and a man door to a 12'10"x18'8" heated studio/shop/handicraft room/ whatever.
